Announcing the limited general availability of Accelerated Connections
We are pleased to announce limited GA of Accelerated Connections, a new Azure Network feature that delivers highest connections per second (CPS) and total active connections (TAC) performance to the most demanding VM workloads through specialised hardware in the Azure fleet. Our technologies enhance VMs to perform at previously unattainable levels (up to 10-25 times previous perf).
Windows 365 Customer Lockbox generally available
Windows 365 Customer Lockbox is now generally available for all organisations with a Microsoft 365 E5 or Office 365 E5 subscription. This security feature ensures that Microsoft cannot access content in your Cloud PCs to do service operations without your explicit approval.
The Future of Windows Server Hyper-V is Bright!
We are happy to share that the integration of Copilot for Microsoft 365 into the Windows desktop experience is now available. This will bring Graph-grounded chat capabilities to Copilot in Windows for users who have a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and Copilot for Windows enabled. This offers a new, easy way for users to access Copilot in Microsoft 365 features in addition to existing surfaces in Teams, Edge, and copilot.microsoft.com
Retirement Announcements
On 31 August 2024, Azure classic administrator roles will be retired. If your organisation has active Co-Administrator or Service Admin roles, you’ll need to transition to using Azure role-based access control (RBAC) roles by then. All Azure classic resources and Azure Service Manager will also be retired on that date.
In pursuit of an enhanced user experience and an unwavering commitment to safety and reliability, we will be retiring Windows Server 2022 on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) in 3-years time.
